Well let’s face it, the weather isn’t going to get any warmer and I hate to tell you that last season’s wardrobe may not work this season. I am not saying that you aren’t as fashion forward as I hope you are, but there are a few things things you should definitely keep in mind when shopping this season.
Let me begin by saying that here in Milan, you have to prepare yourself for the night ahead. It may feel beautiful during the day ( for now ) but the evening brings a climate of it’s own. How do I deal with something like this? Well it’s easy…think scarves, scarves and more scarves. Something that I have picked up on is that scarves are like purses, you can’t have too many. It’s the perfect solution to battling the cold and looking incredibly good doing it. The key is to make sure to pair them wisely with outfits. Make sure they are a seamless integration to the ensemble and it won’t feel as if you are compromising your style. For example, you want to start by buying scarves that are primarily one color, this will help you to pair them. Classic is always the way to go, but of course put your own twist on it. Remember layering is huge this season.
Both by designer Moon Young Hee.Another thing that you have to do is throw away any jeans that aren’t skinny jeans or wide leg/trouser pants/jeans …… If you can’t part with them, just put them in the back of your closet. Let’s be frank, who wears bootleg or flare anymore. Yuck! The only exceptions are of course, form fitting tailored style pants. Trust me on this.
Remember how I told you to trust me, well there are two things that are going to be an integral part of how you put your outfits together this season. Jackets and shoes. Some are saying Ciao to skinny jeans, but skinny jeans and the straight form fitting pants are going to look good with all the jackets that are out this season. And how can you wear your boots over anything but skinny jeans? Hmm? Answer me that!

Now, remember oversized/draped dresses and tops over skinny pants/jeans/tights are in! Also, Long or high waist jackets. Over the knee, short or knee boots. Layering is a definite go this season and tights with a long dress and long coat…………Perfecto! Happy Hunting!
