2007 BET Awards begins with a performance that we describe as “BEAUTIFUL”.

Jennifer Holiday and Jennifer Hudson sang “You’re Gonna Love Me”, a feature in last seasons film Dreamgirls. The ladies complimented each other throughout the entire performance; although meeting for the first time just days before. It is fortunate that the awards started off on such a pleasant note because what was to follow is……..

BlackBerry: MONIQUE WAS WRONG!!!! She made the big girls look a hot mess!!
CheLLe: Please leave the Beyonce Remixes alone.
But we are Monique fans and loved how she kept the show rolling and always paid tribute when due.

Beyonce wins Video of the Year Award for Irreplaceable. She was up against Gnarles Barkley a personal favorite.
CheLLe: TI vs TIP kills it early.
BlackBerry: My boy ran around and performed his behind off!! From ripping it on stage to running through the crowd dapping up all his peoples “TIP” definitely did his thing on stage! He had everyone on their feet, including the guest of honor, Ms. Diana Ross.
Best Group - Gnarles Barkley - Not in the building to accept the award.
Neyo performed his hit, “You.”
BlackBerry: Unfortunately it didn’t sound like a hit during the performance.
CheLLe: Okay, here is where I first suspected the mics of being a bit out of tune… Although professionals like Jennifer Holiday, Eddie Levert, Patti Labelle, Eve, TI, Keyshia Cole and many more rocked and sounded like they could handle any singing situation, Neyo fell into the other category at the beginning of his performance. Sounded off and barely able to hear or understand. But we have seen better and Neyo still gets an LP Kiss

Then Neyo brought out Fabolous to perform the hit collabo, “You Make Me Better.”
BlackBerry: This indeed saved Neyo’s performance.
CheLLe: My personal favorite song at the moment… Check out my myspace… LMAO

Beyonce did her thing, of course. She came out in a gold, robotic get-up and performed “Get Me Bodied.” During her performance she brought out her girls, Michelle, Solange, Monique, and then turned the performance over to Kelly.

BlackBerry: Kelly, Kelly, Kelly. Can we say that this young lady is experiencing an identity crisis. She came out trying to grind and wind, but we all know that ain’t “Ms. Kelly!” Hopefully she’ll find herself. Her vocals were very shaky, and if it weren’t for Eve coming out to do her verse, Kelly’s entire performance would’ve been a disaster. Even Eve had to laugh at Kelly on this one.
CheLLe: :-O
CheLLe: I definitely think Eve Let Loose on the fashion TIP..
I am still looking for My4 inch Thigh Highs. Simply PLush. Now, Ms. Kelly looked beautiful during her entrance to the 2007 BET Awards Stage… I swear it must be the mics, but the sound was off and she need more experience running around the stage being Ms. Kelly. I totally expected something a lil bit more grown and sexy… maybe less grinding and more ….? Still In love with her though…
Diddy and Keyshia Cole performed “Last Night” with a surprise appearance from Lil Kim.
BlackBerry: Well Keyshia definitely was the glue that held this performance together. Diddy absolutely blew it with his lip-synced act.
CheLLe: Oh My Gosh!!! Keyshia held it down true Bay Area Style… LOL - Get It Shawty… LOL. I will reserve comment on Diddy. Everyone who knows… knows that Diddy is my type of guy… Business Minded… Goal Oriented and Successful… Works Hard and Plays Harder…
But he is so into himself that he doesn’t know that we know that he cannot sing… LMAO. He should have at least said something - ANYTHING on the mic… LOL

Chris Brown and Rihanna presented the award for Best Actress Award to Jennifer Hudson.
BlackBerry: First of all we must say that those two looked absolutly adorable.
CheLLe: Not only am I a tad bit in love with both of them, but Rihanna’s white and Chris Brown’s Black melted together perfectly. The stage was full of giddy smiles. By Far, The LP Best Presentation AWARD!!!
BlackBerry: Now back to J. Hud, she was in awe that she is “still receiving awards!” When said it sounded very cocky/arrogant, but we’ll just say that Ms. Hudson was at a loss for words….After all, she is too new to the game to be big-headed, right???

BlackBerry: TI vs TIP - “Best Hip Hop Artist” During his acceptance speech, T.I. also apologized for his unroyal behavior earlier in the week in which he had jumped on Ludacris’ manager, Shaka Zulu. Here’s Luda’s reaction..

Ludacris - “Best Compilation” - LP Kisses
CheLLe: You’re hilarious for this one… I dont know exatly what to call this young man… TI or TIP
but so far, be has my vote. He makes exceptional music and know how to control a PR situation… LP Kisses to TI vs TIP
Gerald Levert Tribute- Patti Labelle
Eddie Levert, his father, Gladys Knight and Yolanda Adams, - Wind Beneath My Wings -
CheLLe: Classic, Sophisticated, Beyond Beautiful
CheLLe: 50 Cent… hilarious - Gives a Great performance and ends with Vitamin Water… LOL. Of course referring to his multi-million dollar portion of the sale of Glaceau, the Vitamin Water/Smart Water company.

“We can be classy and ladies… and gents… not all the pumping and grinding to have longevity in our careers.” - Diana Ross
CheLLe: So who was she speaking to on this one? Maybe a little bit of all of us….
In the words of the great Ms. Diana Ross - “It took me a lifetime to get here… And I Aint Going NOWHERE”.
Here are a few Red Carpet pics….
