Hello Marcy,

Thank you so very much for your letter.

Family relationships are those that we cannot chose. I commend you allowing your sister time to regroup.

Addiction is a serious illiness that often times in incurable. Most “ADDICTS” never recognize their problems and continue to hurt those around them.

I will answer your question with two words, Judgment and Forgiveness. As humans, our place is not to judge. That is the job of YOUR God. Also, we must forgive those who hurt us. Not for them, but so we do not carry that baggage around for the rest of our lives.

As far as your sister, I would suggest not pursuing a relationship with her. The same way she had to make the decision for rehabilitation, she will have to rebuild all the relationships she has destroyed. But when she knocks, do not slam the door.

If you see ANY of the patterns that have haunted you for the last 20 years, step back and again wait for her to take control of her life.

I hope this helps and please feel free to contact and update me on you and your sister’s progress.

LP Kisses and Hugs,

CheLLe’
