Playboy Loses $1.1 Million - Will Hugh Hefner transition to “New Media”?

Flagship Magazine, Playboy, reports losses of $1.1 million, $3 cents per share. A year earlier, the international television and other business affiliates gained a net profit of 3.7 million, 11 cents per share. Revenue slipped from $86.2 million to 85.9 million.

Many critics believe Playboy has outlived her era and needs to say good bye. Others believe all Hef and Playboy need is an Image and Operations Overhaul… and begin moving with the “New Media” industry.

Will many “traditional” publications will soon die.?

Have advertisers moved with trends and abandoned print publications as a sole method to reach their audience?
